We didn’t just patch things up.

We tore things down. And rebuilt them better.

Over the past few weeks, we’ve been facing a serious challenge: Gmail sync wasn’t scaling the way we wanted.

As we started syncing emails, we realized two things:

1. The way we deliver email data from server to client needed a major redesign.

2. The amount of data per user was way beyond our initial assumptions.

We weren’t going to fix this with duct tape.

So we did what any stubborn team would do.

We rethought our infrastructure, rewrote large parts of our sync logic, and made structural changes to how Taurin works under the hood.

We also requested more server capacity from AWS (yes, it’s expensive) — because your inbox shouldn’t have to wait.

The result?

Sync is now cleaner, faster, and far more scalable.

Simpler, Smarter Onboarding

No more quiz-like setup.

When connecting Gmail, every user now starts with the same carefully designed set of default labels.
They’re built to help keep your inbox clean and organized from day one.

Language selection stays in place, because we care about making AI features work great for every language.

Annual Plan Removed

After customer feedback (and many internal debates), we’ve decided to remove the annual plan for new users.

→ Existing users on an annual plan stay grandfathered in.

We believe this makes Taurin simpler, more flexible, and easier to adapt to changing needs.

Minor Fixes & Improvements

• CC field now correctly appears in thread detail view.

• Compose modal opens at the top of the screen and no longer has a strange bottom border radius.

• Email compose now opens in a modal — no page transition, no context switch.
